a new full-length solo release entitled tableland is scheduled for late april/early may 2001 on emperor jones.a few tracks have been selected from slate branches to appear in an as yet untitled short film by Jim Freeman.the blithe sons debut cd dirt and clouds has been released on jewelled antler. the blithe sons is a new instrumental project featuring glenn donaldson (thuja, knit separates, mirza) and loren chasse (thuja, id battery). it has been likened to "melancholic UK psychedelia which runs from the wicker man soundtrack through to the early instrumentals of eyeless in gaza and the pensive sounds of richard youngs." and can be obtained via mail order through aquarius records [www.aquariusrecordssf.com].
